The Isle of Man Government has noticed ClassNK of the special requirements for Life-saving appliances and Equipment on board Isle of Man flagged vessels (MANX SHIPPING NOTICE (MSN 011/Amended December 2010)).

Bull Dog / Cable Grips are not acceptable. Where these terminations are found to have been used on primary load-bearing terminations, arrangements are to be made by the operators to have them replaced Wedge sockets etc. And this requirement is to be applied to all ships regardless of date of construction.

The compliance with this regulation is confirmed at the next SE survey after on or 10 March 2011 in respect of the Cargo Ship Safety Equipment Certificate.
