Instructions from the several flag states regarding periodic servicing and maintenance of lifeboats, launching appliances and on-load release gear were informed by ClassNK Technical Information No. TEC-0693 dated 12 April 2007, No. TEC-0721 dated 26 December 2007 and No. TEC-0784 dated 10 September 2009.
Marshal Islands have informed ClassNK of new instruction on this matter as follows:

The periodic servicing and maintenance of lifeboats, launching appliances and on-load release gear are to be conducted by the manufacturer's representative or a person appropriately trained and certified by the manufacturer for the work to be done. In cases where manufacturer certified facilities are not available, a non-manufacturer certified facility or a properly trained personnel selected by the Company may be utilized to perform those relevant servicing and maintenance functions provided the periodic servicing and maintenance is conduced in the presence of the surveyor.

Please replace "Marshall Islands" in the attachment of the ClassNK Technical Information No. TEC-0693 dated 12 April 2007, No. TEC-0721 dated 26 December 2007 and No. TEC-0784 dated 10 September 2009 with this ClassNK Technical Information.
