Danish Maritime Authority has noticed ClassNK of the Administration Requirements for pressure test of cylinders of high pressure CO2 fire-extinguishing systems on board Denmark flagged vessels as per attached (DMA Class Circular no.: 06/2009). In this regard, your necessary action would be appreciated.

For cylinders of high pressure CO2 fire-extinguishing systems are to be pressure tested in accordance with the following principles:
-1. CO2 cylinders are to be pressure tested every ten years.
-2. If, at an external inspection in connection with the annual surveys, the CO2 cylinders are in a satisfactory condition, the first pressure test interval may be extended to 20 years. However, this relaxation is not applicable to the following cylinders:
(1) Cylinders that have been discharged during their service history.
(2) Cylinders that have lost their pressure or weight.
(3) Cylinders that have corroded or been externally damaged.
