Fire control plans onboard the Singapore flag ships

This Technical Information is to inform you that, according to circulars issued by the Government of the Republic of Singapore, the fire control plans onboard the Singapore flag ships shall be in accordance with the following IMO Resolutions and MSC/Circular.

1. Resolution A.952(23)
The graphical symbols used for fire control plans onboard ships constructed on or after 1 January 2004 should be of the same shapes and colour as shown in Resolution A.952(23).
2. Resolution A.654(16)
The graphical symbols used for fire control plans onboard ships constructed before 1 January 2004 should be of the same shapes and colour as shown in Resolution A.654(16). However, if these fire control plans are revised in its entirety, meaning re-developed and drawn, then the graphical symbols used for fire control plans should be of the same shapes and colour as shown in Resolution A.952(23)
3. MSC/Circ.451
The location and sign of fire control plans stored in weathertight enclosure outside deckhouse for the assistance of shore side fire-fighting personnel shall be in accordance with MSC/Circ.451.
4. Resolution A.756(18)
Fire control plans for ships carrying more than 36 passengers shall be in accordance with Resolution A.756(18) also.

Note: The above requirements are applied to all Singapore flag ships. As surveyors confirm the compliance at the first Safety Equipment survey carried out on or after 1 July 2006, ships not complying with should comply with the requirements not later than the date of survey.
