Provision and Display of Manoeuvring Information on board Liberian Ships
IMO Resolution A.601(15) "Provision and Display of Manoeuvring Information on board Ships" recommends that Pilot Card described data of current conditions of the ship, Wheelhouse Poster displayed in the wheelhouse describing the particulars and manoeuvring characteristics of the ship, and Manoeuvring Booklet are on board and available to navigators.
The Liberian Government has instructed this Society that these manoeuvring information are immediately on board newly constructed Liberian ships.
In this respect, the Society carries out to verify the provision and display of manoeuvring information on board and available to navigators as followings.
1. Provision and display of manoeuvring information
(I) For all new ships, the Pilot Card should be provided.
(ii) For all new ships of 100 meter and over, and all new chemical tankers and gas carriers regardless of size, the Pilot Card, Wheelhouse Poster and Manoeuvring Booklet should be provided.
2. Implementation
(I) Application
The provision and display of manoeuvring information are applied to the new Liberian ships, not to the existing ships. By way of exception, please take note that existing ships, such as tankers, already are inspected by some Port States.
(ii) For the ships required, this Society verifies the display of Wheelhouse Poster and the provisions of Pilot Card and Manoeuvring Booklet.
When a ship does not comply with the requirement of A.601(15) until the delivery of the ship, the Society sets out a note on the survey report that gives sufficient time to prepare and install the manoeuvring information on board the ship.
(iii) The Society does not approve the Pilot Card, Wheelhouse Poster and Manoeuvring Booklet.
