Qualifications and Number of Radio Personnel on board Malaysian Flag GMDSS Ships
The Malaysian Government has notified the Society of their requirements for qualifications and number of radio personnel on board Malaysian flag GMDSS ships, which is reproduced below for information/action:
Qualifications and Number of Radio Personnel on board Malaysian Flag GMDSS Ships
Two GOC holders, or One exclusive GOC or 1st/2nd REC holder.
Holders of GOC or ROC issued by countries other than Malaysia should possess a Certificate of Recognition (COR) - a combined certificate of a Certificate of Competence and GOC or ROC - issued by the Marine Department of Malaysia.
This information supersedes the item about Malaysia, "Qualifications and number of radio personnel required on board Malaysian flag GMDSS ships", on ClassNK Technical Information No.193 "Qualifications and Numbers of Radio Personnel Required on board Malaysian Flag and Myanmar Flag GMDSS ships" dated 5 August 1996.
