Means for Rapid Safe Recovery of Rescue Boats of Hong Kong Registered Ships
The Hong Kong Marine Department has required the means for rapid and safe recovery of a lifeboat which is also a rescue boat on board Hong Kong registered ships built on or after 1 July 1986 as per NK Technical Information No.207 of 21 February 1997.
Further instruction has however just been received from the Hong Kong Marine Department, confirming that the above should be regarded as a recommendation only but not be a condition for the issue of a cargo ship safety equipment certificate to Hong Kong registered ships.
NK Technical Information No.207 should therefore be canceled accordingly.
