The Belizean Government, the Qatari Government and the Sri Lankan Government have notified the Society of their requirements for radio personnel on board GMDSS ships, which are reproduced below for information/action:

Required Radio Personnel on Board Belizean Flag GMDSS Ships
1. For ships with shore based maintenance engaging on voyages beyond sea area A1,
- Two deck officers both with GOC, or one dedicated radio officer with GOC.
2. For ship with onboard maintenance engaging on voyages beyond sea area A1
- One dedicated radio officer with 1st or 2nd class REC and one deck officer with
GOC,
Or,
- One holder of 1st or 2nd class REC (Not designated as the radio officer) and two deck officers both with GOC.

Required Radio Personnel on Board Qatari Flag GMDSS ships
For ship engaging on voyages beyond sea area A1 and adopting other maintenance method than onboard maintenance.
- One GOC holder.

Required Radio Personnel on Board Sri Lankan Flag GMDSS ships
For ship engaging on voyages beyond sea area A1 and adopting other maintenance method than onboard maintenance.
