The Isle of Man Administration has issued special requirements for the treatment of asbestos as per quoted below;

- If asbestos is detected on board in contravention of SOLAS Chapter II-1 Reg. 3-5, action should be taken to have it removed.

As at the said contravention is found, the contravention should be notified to the Administration together with an action plan for the removal.

When the Administration found the action plan to be satisfactory, the exemption will be issued by them.

And, the removal - assigned to professional asbestos removal companies - should take place within a time frame of three (3) years from the date when the contravention is found.
