Fire fighter' s communication for vessels flying the Greek Flag
Greek Government has notified of Fire fighter's communication for vessels flying the Greek flag by "Implementation of the provisions of Regulation II-2, Part C/10.10.4 of the SOLAS Convention relating to Fire Fighters' Communication" (Ref. No. 2322.1/52275/2018) as follows.
1. The fire fighter radios shall be carried on board in addition to any other two-way radiotelephone apparatus that is available on board, as per the requirements of the SOLAS Convention.
2. The fire fighter radios shall be on immediate operation mode via chargers providing constant charge to the radio battery.
3. The fire fighter radios shall be recorded in the equipment list of each fire party.
4. Position of fire fighter radios shall be indicated in the fire safety plan.
5. Ships which are constructed on or after 1 January 2018 shall comply with the above requirements by the delivery of the ships.
6. Ships which are constructed before 1 January 2018 shall comply with the above requirements by the first periodic survey for Safety Equipment on or after 1 July 2019. (ClassNK surveyors will confirm that ship comply with the requirements at the survey.)
