Information regarding interim regulations within the Xiamen port area

Please be advised that several interim regulations will be in effect within the bay and port waters of Xiamen city due to the city's hosting of the 2017 BRICS Summit from 3 September 2017 to 5 September 2017. An outline of these regulations is as follows:

1. From 00:00 on 1 September 2017 to 24:00 on 6 September 2017
All ships entering waters of Xiamen port area are required to use fuel oils whose sulphur content does not exceed 0.5% m/m.

2. From 00:00 on 20 August 2017 to 24:00 on 26 August 2017
Oil tankers, chemical tankers, liquefied gas carriers and any other ships which carry packaged explosive substances, inflammable gases, flammable liquids, oxidizing substances, organic peroxides, self-reactive substances, high toxic products, infectious substances and radioactive substances are prohibited to enter or depart from the bay and port area of Xiamen city.

3. From 00:00 on 27 August 2017 to 24:00 on 6 September 2017
Loading and unloading operations of dangerous cargoes in the bay and port area of Xiamen city are prohibited; moreover, ships carrying dangerous cargo other than those classified by the IMDG code as Class 8 (corrosive materials) and Class 9 (miscellaneous dangerous substances) are prohibited from entering or departing from the bay and port waters of Xiamen city.

4. From 1 September 2017 to 6 September 2017
Persons and ships are prohibited from entering the following sea areas within Xiamen port territory:
(1) Base point of Hecuo and Xiangshan (24°29'06"N, 118°11'48"E), south side of bearing line 103°; and
(2) Base point of Baishitou (24°25'30"N, 118°07'54"E), north side of bearing line 132°.
