In the Middle East region, in addition to areas that have been difficult to access due to security concerns, the recent deterioration of the regional situation has made on-site survey and/or audit services partially impracticable in certain locations (excluding areas along the Red Sea coast, such as Jeddah). Under these circumstances, we continue to make every effort to provide services to the fullest extent possible while ensuring the safety of our personnel in the region. Furthermore, considering the current emergency situation, the Head Office and the Survey Operations Division have established information management and coordination support systems to assist our regional offices in the Middle East. Accordingly, shipowners and ship management companies may continue to contact the Offices in the Middle East region as usual, or may contact the Survey Operations Division directly.

<Authorization from the Flag State Authorities for Extension of Due Dates>
Considering the current situation in the Middle East region (particularly in and around the Persian Gulf), we recognize the necessity of exercising the utmost consideration for vessels whose certification due dates about survey and/or audit are approaching, in order to avoid disruption to the operations of shipowners or ship management companies. In particular, for vessels that have to remain within and around the Persian Gulf due to these circumstances, we have initiated discussions with the relevant flag state authorities to ensure that such cases may be appropriately treated as force majeure.
