The Government of Marshall Islands issued Marine Notice No.1-000-3 including the requirement for nautical publications for emergency use.

The main points are given hereunder.

- Even if electronic nautical publications are installed onboard, the publications for emergency use, such as the International Code of Signals and the IAMSAR Manual should always be available in the form of hard copies.
- When electronic nautical publications with electronic back up are carried, portions of the publications needed for navigation while the vessel is en route between ports should be printed and included with the voyage plan.
