As informed by ClassNK Technical Information No.TEC-0693 dated 12 April 2007 and No.TEC-0721 dated 26 December 2007, in case where the manufacturer-certified service suppliers are not available for the Annual Through Examination of the lifeboats, their on-load release gears and launching appliances for Panamanian flag ships, an individual authorization from Panama Maritime Authority (PMA) is required in a case by case basis to carry out the above examinations by the service suppliers who are not certified by the manufacturers.

Recently, PMA has instructed ClassNK to use the attached application form (Application For Service Station Approval (Form Code: F-SEG-01-06-01)) to apply the above authorization.

Please complete the form and send it to ClassNK or apply PMA directly by E-mail together with the copy of the approval/certification of the proposed service suppliers issued by manufacturers of lifeboats and launching appliances in such cases.
