The Government of Cyprus has notified ClassNK of the regulations on survey of cargo handling appliances.

Major revised points are as follows:
1. All lifting appliances regardless of their S.W.L. (including non cargo handling items, such as overhead cranes in engine room, provision cranes, F.O. davits etc.) provided on cargo ships having capacity of 100 GT or more and passenger ships irrespective of their capacity flying the Cypriot flag, are requested to have certificates. Lifting appliances of existing ships are to be approved, tested and certified, not later than the first annual or renewal class survey after 1 June 2002.
2. The regulations relating to personnel elevators are newly provided. The regulations apply to all personnel elevators provided on Cypriot flag ships irrespective of their capacity. Elevators of existing ships are to be approved, tested and certified, not later than the first annual or renewal class survey after 1 June 2002.

As regards the above 1. And 2., if you make an application when the ship has the survey, ClassNK service site will do the issuance work on behalf of the Government.
