Please be informed that Malta Maritime Authority has instructed on applying Council Directive 96/98/EC on marine equipment as amended, to the equipment installed on board Maltese flagged vessels.

Malta Maritime Authority is now preparing to transpose the Directive into Maltese Law. In this connection, the Authority has instructed us on the implementation of the Directive in advance.

According to this instruction, the equipment which will be newly installed on board Maltese flagged vessels should be affixed with the conformity mark (wheel mark) of the Directive.
