Inflatable liferafts, marine evacuation systems and hydrostatic release units on board Greek flag ships
This is informing you of the following requirements of the Government of Hellenic Republic for inflatable liferafts, marine evacuation systems and hydrostatic release units on board Greek flag ships.
1. Inflatable liferafts and marine evacuation systems should be serviced at servicing stations approved by the Government of Hellenic Republic and the manufacturer. Hydrostatic release units should be serviced at servicing stations approved by Government of Hellenic Republic. However, in case that the ship is not expected to call at a Greek port where there is an authorized servicing station by the due date for the next servicing, servicing at a servicing station approved by other contracting governments to SOLAS or by organizations recognized by these governments may be acceptable.
2. In case that there is not any servicing station approved by the manufacturer of the marine evacuation systems in Greece, servicing at a servicing station approved by other manufacturers of the marine evacuation systems may be acceptable provided that sufficient informative documentation for the performance of the relative controls are available.
3. In addition to the markings required under LSA Code 4.2.6.3, the name, port and number of the registry of the ship should be marked on the container of the inflatable liferaft. Each letter should be of a color contrasting with that of the container. These markings are required of all Greek flag ships.
