ClassNK issued Technical Information No.TEC-1101 dated 17 February 2017 regarding Revised IHO standards of Electronic Navigation Charts using in ECDIS and announced that it is required to update the software on ECDIS onboard a ship, or replace ECDIS itself before 31 August 2017 in order to display charts based on revised IHO standards. In case where the software is updated, a confirmation survey is required by the first SE survey after update.

On the other hand, as for Japanese flag ships, in case where ECDIS, of which software updates have functional capabilities required by IEC61174 Ed4.0 in the contents, is installed onboard, an occasional survey is required at the timing of the software update in accordance with the procedure of Japanese Government (Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism).

When ECDIS listed below is updated for Japanese flag ship, please apply for an occasional survey to NK survey sites accordingly.
